…and the winners are!!

Congratulations to all the wonderful nominees.  It was a very difficult task narrowing down who the winners should be!

Volunteer of the Year: (joint)

Alyce Smith (Narrogin) “Alyce’s contributions have not only benefited the Narrogin Squash Club but have also inspired and encouraged others within the squash community.”

AND

Lisa Christou (Vic Park) “Lisa is always putting in 100% for the club as she loves the sport and has the best interest of squash and the club at heart. She also has the future of the sport in mind and is very passionate about coaching and promoting the junior program to keep the sport alive.”

Junior of the Year:

Caitlin Pratt (Narrogin) “Caitlin’s commitment to squash has been consistent throughout her career. Her dedication to training, competition, and community involvement is marked by unwavering persistence and a tireless work ethic.”

Junior Player of the Year:

Oscar Curtis (Mirrabooka) “Oscar exits the junior ranks in 2023 as one of the most successful Australian junior men in recent times. In September, Oscar won his third Under 19 Australian Junior Championship, a feat no other junior Australian male has achieved. Oscar’s three Australian Junior Championships go with his three Australian Junior Open titles – an achievement also unmatched in the history of that event.” 

Coach of the Year:

Sue Hillier (Vic Park) “Sue devotes numerous hours toward coaching and developing the next generation of squash players at all levels. She strives to encourage all juniors to be the best they can.”

Referee of the Year:

Neil Butler “Neil has been refereeing and supporting our sport for longer than most of us have been around. Always happy to help and give advice, Neil is very deserving of this award.”
