2025 Geraldton Open

Thanks Carlee Wilson

Geraldton Open 2025 โ€“ A Smashing Success!

What a weekend! The 2025 Geraldton Open delivered big serves, bigger rallies, and even bigger smiles. While the committee is now running on fumes (and leftover toasted sandwiches), the event was a resounding successโ€”and weโ€™re still buzzing!

A Tournament to Remember

From juniors to veterans, local legends to long-distance travellers, 72 incredible players brought their A-game across multiple divisions. Many juniors even stepped up to compete in both the junior and open events. The spirit of the game was alive and thriving!

Friday night sausage sizzle thanks to Adrian at Dongara IGA!!

Saturday night dinner was a hit with great food, footy on the tv, drinks and fabulous company! Especially loved holding it at the Murchison Tav made life a lot easier.

Thank You to Our Sponsors

A massive thank you to our major sponsor, Southside Mechanical Geraldtonโ€”a loyal supporter and club member who’s been with us through thick and thin.

Weโ€™re also incredibly grateful for the support of:

  • Finlayโ€™s Brewing Co.
  • Mitchell and Brown Retravision
  • Kane & Tyron from The Racquet Shop
  • Dongara IGA
  • Warthog Washers
  • Rigters IGA Durlacher
  • Ocean Centre Hotel Geraldton

Without your generosity, not only would this event be impossibleโ€”we probably wouldnโ€™t be operating as a club. Thank you for backing grassroots squash.

Special Mentions

  • Leon Wilson โ€“ The Revo Sport wrangler and logistics mastermind.
  • Brad Grinter โ€“ For tech support, doing theย  draw, patience, and possibly setting a record for “most time spent staring at a drawsheet.”
  • Shaun Purslow โ€“ For fuelling the masses with his famous Purslowโ€™s pulled pork rolls.
  • Tim Cowell & Serena from Squash WA โ€“ For supporting local squash with school visits, coaching clinics, and mentoring.
  • Luke, our tournament referee โ€“ Always there when we need you: for rulings, for laughs, and for moral support.
  • Joe โ€“ Our resident photographer with an eye for the action and a knack for making squash look glamorous.
  • All the volunteers โ€“ Especially the family members who kept everyone well-fed and comfortable.
