Sponsor Spotlight – ECG Engineering

Sponsor Spotlight โ€“ ECG Engineering

This month we are featuring another one of our wonderful sponsors: ECG Engineering!ย  ECG Engineering are a genuinely community-minded business who have supported a number of events at state and club level, and most recently supported the Australian Masters Squash Championships in September.ย

If youโ€™ve ever been involved in running an event, then youโ€™ll know that they just arenโ€™t possible without the generous people in the community that are helping our sport to grow.ย  THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone at ECG Engineering.ย  You are worth your weight in gold!ย

Now letโ€™s get to know ECG Engineering.ย  We caught up with Business Systems Manager Stephen Traverso, who gave us a great insight into the how, what, why and when of the business โ€ฆand what a lovely guy!!

  1. Tell us about the when, how and why of ECG Engineeringโ€™s beginnings.ย

ECG Engineering was founded in 2014 right here in Perth, Western Australia. Our founders, Geoff Bailey and Mike Le Cerf, established the business after recognising an opportunity to create a homegrown engineering firm that delivers high-quality electrical and automation solutions for large-scale projects in the mining and energy sectors.ย

Thereย was room for a WA-based team capable of providing world-class expertise in electrical design and controls, combined with local knowledge and personalised service (Geoff Bailey and team have beenย involved in the local WA market and globally for over 35 years). The vision was to innovate with integrity in partnership, a principle that later became our corporate value, by bringing advanced engineering expertise to projects both locally and for clients worldwide.

  1. Who is your target audience/client?

Our clients are primarily companies in the mining, resources, and energy sectors. In plain terms, we work with organisations that run mines, power stations, processing plants, and similar large-scale operations. If itโ€™s a heavy industry project that needs electrical engineering or automation expertise, thatโ€™s right up our alley. While weโ€™re based in Welshpool, WA, many of our clients have global operations, so we often end up supporting projects not only in Western Australia but also in Africa, North America, and other regions ย (e.g., our team has supported mining projects in countries like Burkina Faso, Ghana, and Canada, as well as all over Australia) This mix of local roots and international reach means we understand Perthโ€™s industry culture and also bring a worldwide perspective to our work.

  1. Whatโ€™s the best way for people to contact you?

The best way to reach us is to drop us an email or give us a call; weโ€™re always happy to chat. You can email info@ecg-engineering.com or call our Perth office at (08) 6164 3400. We also have a contact form on our website (www.ecg-engineering.com) if thatโ€™s more convenient for you. Whether itโ€™s about a potential project or to learn more about what we do, weโ€™ll make sure the right person at ECG gets back to you.

(Our office address, for those interested, is 2-10 Adams Drive, Welshpool, WA, but probably an email or call is easiest to start with!)

Weโ€™re a friendly bunch, and this photo (above) shows some of their engineers and staff in their element.ย

These site photos (below) give a glimpse into the type of engineering work we do. These visuals should help everyone see who we are: real people behind the company, working together on exciting projects.

On a community note, weโ€™re proud to be involved beyond just work. For instance, our own Fiona Whooley (below, far right) from the Perth office recently represented us at the Australian Masters Squash Championships, and we love supporting events like this: we truly value teamwork, whether on the job or on the squash court!
