Update time squash fans!! 🇬🇧 #2023britishjunioropen 🇬🇧

Our British correspondents Rich Grain(y) and Amanda Hopps are doing a stellar job in reporting back to us with photos and updates!

Grainy shared, “Oscar went down in an unbelievably close three,” (9-11, 8-11, 6-11) and unfortunately lost his next match in four against Canadian Jacob Lin (11-7, 11-5, 11-13, 11-5).

Aiden lost in three against Switzerland’s Nick Greter (9-11, 3-11, 7-11). “It was a tough match for them both,” Grainy said.

Amanda reflected, “Hats off to Madi Lyon winning 11-9, 11-4, 11-7. Great application across the T, forcing the play and moving the ball into all four corners. Showed up when the big points arrived. Erin is gutted but a great learning experience!”

“Erin started strong but then the nerves kicked in,” added Grainy.

Isla lost her match against Hungarian Nora Juhasz in three. You can see from the final scores that she fought hard right to the very end (9-11, 4-11, 10-12)!

Next matches (in Perth time) are:

  • Isla v England’s Zoe Tanner Friday 5pm
  • Aiden v Finland’s Raphael Orphanou Friday 5.40pm
  • Erin v India’s Vasudha Surange Friday 10.00pm
  • Oscar v Hong Kong’s Arthur Pak Ki Law Saturday 9.10pm

Every single day, volunteers dedicate an epic amount of time and effort to ensure the smooth-running and growth of our sport, and WA Squash CANNOT thank you all enough for everything you do.  Your efforts do not go unnoticed.
